The Coast Guard will close an approximate five mile, Y-shaped section of Pittsburgh's rivers during the G 20 Summit.
Lieutenant Commander Scott Higman says the closures on the Ohio, Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers will begin 6a.m. Thursday and end 10p.m. Friday.
The Coast Guard will patrol with about 1o armed 25-foot boats and a cutter. City of Pittsburgh Police will patrol with two boats and state police will have at least one.
The restricted zone will extend from the West End Bridge on the Ohio River to 500 yards north of the 16th street bridge on the Allegheny River and to the tenth street bridge on the Monongahela River.
