PA Work-Related Deaths increase in 2008
Fatal work injuries increased to 240 in 2008 from 220 in 2007 in Pennsylvania. Bureau of Labor Statistics Regional Economist Gerald Perrins says the most common occupation related to work-related death were those in transportation and material moving occupations, where 63 died. Perrins also notes that three quarters of all deaths occurred in metropolitan areas. Philadelphia had the most, with 84, and Pittsburgh had 45 work-related deaths.
