A forum was held Thursday to bring awareness to homelessness in Allegheny County.
The forum was part of a series of events leading up to the 2009 Sleep-In for the Homeless organized by Community Health Services and to be held in front of the City-County Building on October 9th.
The speakers at the forum were Congressman Mike Doyle who discussed national legislation impacting local homelessness, Sarah Kahn, Director of Field Mobilization for the National Alliance to End Homelessness, Mike Lindsay, Allegheny County Housing Director in the Department of Health and Human Services, Rev. Mike Wurschmidt, Rector at Shepard's Heart and Adrienne Walnoha, Executive Director of Community Health Services.
