Candidate for Mayor Franco "Dok" Harris released his public safety platform that would make Pittsburgh a more livable city.
He says we need to address root causes of crime and also make sure we take steps to decrease crime in the city. He says most crime is caused by three factors: substance abuse, structural poverty and lack of traditional economic opportunity.
His platform calls for creating long-term solutions by addressing structural problems that create economic hopelessness and foster crime and providing additional training to police officers.
